Campaigner: Everybody is entitled to fast business broadband


A campaigner who has protested for some time in the hope of seeing faster business broadband links installed in east Yorkshire has declared every firm in the country should have access to high-speed internet. John Popham, an IT and social media expert, told the Hull Daily Mail that news BT will upgrade the region's connections to 20 Mbps is a positive step. However, he suggested that by the time the work is completed in the summer, businesses and residents will be pushing for faster rates.

BT promises business broadband upgrades


Firms in South Chard and other locations around the south-west have been promised by BT their business broadband options will be upgraded over the coming months. According to the Chard and Ilminster News, the telecommunications provider has assured local residents and companies that they will soon enjoy access to top-quality internet. It is part of BT's latest rollout of the best technology and will see speeds rise to more than twice the level of the average UK building.

Hereford Cathedral to provide VoIP solutions options?


Businesses located close to Hereford Cathedral may soon have the religious building to thank for a greater opportunity to benefit from voice over internet protocol (VoIP) solutions. The Ledbury Reporter has revealed that a broadband antennae is to be added to the tower of the cathedral. It is the first time a building of this type has allowed a receiver to be attached to it and will boost connections in the vicinity.

Welsh broadband revamp to make VoIP solutions more effective?


Companies in Wales that operate voice over internet protocol (VoIP) solutions might be delighted by the news that the country is to receive a broadband makeover. BT has confirmed it will invest in 33 communities around Wales in a bid to improve infrastructure and increase online speeds available to businesses and residential properties, reported the BBC. In total, some 130,000 premises are expected to benefit from the rollout of the latest technology and upgrades are due to be noticeable by the summer of 2012.

Firms in the West Country that invest in internet protocol (IP) telephony solutions may find their purchase pays off faster than they first expected it to. That is because a significant upgrade of broadband infrastructure in the area is scheduled to take place. The Plymouth Herald has told how more than 6,000 premises – including businesses and residential properties – are to benefit from the rollout by BT.
