New Blackberry phone could boost VoIP traffic


VoIP traffic could be set to rise following the anticipated release of the latest Blackberry mobile phone. The BlackBerry 9800 is expected to be launched by developers Research in Motion (RIM) at an event in New York next week. The new handset is expected to use RIM's new operating system - BlackBerry OS 6 - which features an improved internet browser.

Innovative broadband lines could boost VoIP solutions


Business VoIP service users in rural areas could benefit from the innovative deployment of broadband in a Welsh village. Virgin Media is using electrical poles owned by Western Power Distribution (WPD), to deliver super-fast broadband to residents of Crumlin in Caerphilly. Users will be able to access download speeds of up to 50Mbps, compared to the current average rate of just 5.
