Mobile broadband would 'stimulate economic growth'

The vast majority of businesses believe that a high-speed broadband network is essential for Britain to compete in the global economy, a leading organisation claims. According to research by the Communications Management Association (CMA), 94 per cent of companies want the government to bring high-performance telecommunications to all parts of the UK. Equally, 95 per cent of businesses said that Britain must act quickly to hold its position in the top ten broadband nations in the world.

Mobile broadband to play a 'big part' in the future of internet in the UK


Mobilebroadband is without doubt going to play an important role in the future of internet usage in the UK, a leading expert has claimed. Microsoft: Broadband to remain a necessity during the recession


Despite the current recession, information technology giant Microsoft has claimed that consumers are unlikely to give up their broadband packages. The firm was discussing the state of consumer technology at the Intellect Annual Regent Conference 2009 held at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel, London, on February 10th. Ashley Highfield, the firm's managing director and vice-president of consumer and online UK, said that "staying in is the new going out" for people during the recession.
