Writing on the Digium Inside the Asterisk blog, Angie Reed, product marketing manager for Switchvox, says its fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) is a key feature in the new version.

Sales of pure IP PBX solutions rose in the first quarter of 2011, despite the traditional post-Christmas slump, reports Infonetics Research. The analyst last week noted that the market for enterprise telephony and unified communications had grown year on year but fallen over the previous quarter. However, within this figure the IP PBX segment actually scored sequential growth - the only part of the technology's market to do so.

While the sector did not escape its usual seasonal slump post-Christmas, falling 2. 6 per cent sequentially, its annual movement was more positive at growth of 8.
