IP PBX sales up in Q1


Sales of pure IP PBX solutions rose in the first quarter of 2011, despite the traditional post-Christmas slump, reports Infonetics Research. The analyst last week noted that the market for enterprise telephony and unified communications had grown year on year but fallen over the previous quarter. However, within this figure the IP PBX segment actually scored sequential growth - the only part of the technology's market to do so.

IP telephony solutions see accelerated uptake


The uptake of IP telephony solutions is accelerating, according to an Infonetics Research report on the performance of PBX markets in the first quarter of 2011. While the sector did not escape its usual seasonal slump post-Christmas, falling 2. 6 per cent sequentially, its annual movement was more positive at growth of 8.

AstriCon conference date is set for October


Asterisk has announced that the eighth annual AstriCon, event will be held from October 26th to 28th. The Asterisk User Conference and Expo is major event for technicians working with the widely-used open source communications platform. Digium, the company which specialises in IP PBX phone systems, VoIP phone systems, and produces the Asterisk telephony software said that this year's conference will be held in Denver, Colorado.

IP PBX centre stage for snom


IP PBX developer snom will be putting its snom ONE plus appliance at centre stage next week as it attends Interop 2011 in Las Vegas. A post on the snom VoIP Blog reveals that the appliance and the snom 821 OCS Edition desktop phone will be particularly highlighted at the event. However, the company's full range of IP PBX solutions, endpoints and phone hardware will be displayed as well.
