TalkTalk benefits from reduced broadband churn


Business broadband provider TalkTalk has claimed that it is attracting a higher class of ISP customer that are less likely to switch service provider. The firm's claim comes as shares in the company climbed by 9. 4 per cent off the back of improved broadband penetration.

Avanti to invest in business broadband satellite


British communications specialist Avanti is set to invest £75 million in its new HYLAS 3 communications satellite, which will be used to deliver high-speed business broadband. The company hopes that HYLAS 3 will help address the problem of patchy business broadband coverage in remote, rural areas. Avanti already has one satellite in orbit and will add a second in summer.

Business broadband upgrade 'will benefit everybody'


Firms in Scotland stand to benefit greatly from an improvement that is due to be made to the country's business broadband infrastructure. Brendan Dick, director of BT Scotland, has used an article for the Scotsman to outline his thoughts on the Scottish Government's decision to roll out next-generation digital technology in a bid to bring the fastest speeds to companies and residential users – something he described as "great news".

Britons to enjoy new 100 Mb business broadband


British companies will soon be able to enjoy 100 Megabit (Mb) business broadband links thanks to Virgin Media. The telecommunications firm has announced that its development of the superfast internet connection is running ahead of schedule. It noted that some ten million homes can now access the web at 100 Mb, which is more than 13 times faster than the national average for broadband speeds.

Business broadband in the countryside 'still suffering'


When it comes to enjoying the latest business broadband technology, firms located in the UK's rural spots are still missing out, it has been claimed. The Country Land and Business Association (CLA) has suggested that the latest round of upgrades to broadband links have once again bypassed the countryside. All of the fastest speeds and best improvements are being diverted towards the areas that already have the most rapid connections, it noted.
