Rural areas do not need to be forgotten in VoIP revolutionPosted 10 months 1 week ago in: General VoIP ![]() Telappliant News: 2012-08-10 Rate this article: There are plenty of reasons for basing a company in a rural location. Whether you want to be close to your customers or intend to work in an industry related to the countryside, it can often be the perfect place to be. You might even simply want to allow your staff to work with green fields and fresh air surrounding them, rather than from the top floor of an office block in a city centre. There are certainly benefits to the open spaces of the UK when it comes to positioning a firm. However, one of the issues that many report is a lack of communications links and poor infrastructure for the latest technology. Of course, this is likely to be a severe knock to your chances of performing adequately and efficiently. The good news is that this is no longer the story everywhere you go. In fact, some rural spots are now heavily linked to all the latest equipment and solutions. Perhaps most importantly of all, they boast fast and reliable internet connections, which can be crucial. One imminent example of this is the greenest areas of Scotland, which are set to benefit from a new £5 million broadband fund that is being set up. The Scottish Government has confirmed it will spend the money on improving access to the web for those in outlying areas. Infrastructure secretary Alex Neil commented: "Broadband should not be considered a luxury in rural areas. It is essential to enhance the quality of life and stimulate local economies." With this in mind, rural businesses that have access to a superfast broadband port might wish to invest in VoIP. This will allow them to make cheap and reliable calls over the web at any time of the day or night. In particular, the bargain rates on offer for calling international recipients are sure to be a factor that attracts your firm and puts it on the path to success.
