Cloud-based VoIP solutions 'will save businesses money'Posted 5 months 2 days ago in: General VoIP ![]() Telappliant News: 2011-12-22 Rate this article: Companies have been promised they will save money on operational expenses if they decide to invest in voice over internet protocol (VoIP) solutions. Andy Abramson, author of blog site VoIPWatch, has explained that the technology can play a key role in a new business set-up, in which senior bosses do not have to do as much as before. For example, he suggested the use of VoIP solutions means there is "no need" for those in roles such as telecom manager or IT manager to be as hands-on as they may once have been. The result of this is that, as well as there being a reduction in running costs, there can also be a drop in labour expenses as a result of deploying the software. Mr Abramson went on to recommend VoIP solutions to people and businesses that do not enjoy high-quality traditional phone links, marking out south-east Asia as a location where it is particularly prevalent. "You're also seeing VoIP uptake by customers of cable companies and those who chose to get their residential internet from providers other than the incumbent local phone company," the expert stated. Premises that were selected to receive copper rather than fibre wires are said by the industry chief to be highly likely to feature VoIP as a result. Gains in efficiency and a reduction in wastage are also expected results of a move away from traditional communications to VoIP. The technology can also be extremely reliable, with leading providers offering a set-up that is as resilient as it is intricate and skilled. It was revealed this week by BT that the latest organisation looking for a revolution of its communications infrastructure is the European Parliament. As part of a €120 million (£100 million) deal, the telecommunications firm will install a series of solutions, including IP telephony devices.
