VoIP solutions 'are taking over telecommunications market'

Businesses around the country have been warned that voice over internet protocol (VoIP) solutions are becoming increasingly dominant in the telecommunications market.

Andy Abramson, author of blog site VoIPWatch, explained the technology is slowly replacing the telephone systems the UK has been used to for decades.

He suggested it is taking over the industry, with both carriers and consumers – the latter of which includes many businesses.

"VoIP is growing and more and more is the mainstream mode of voice communications. I would expect to see VoIP and video communications to keep growing," Mr Abramson stated.

The only way to keep up with the trend may be for firms to invest in the latest, high-quality VoIP solutions, which can be used to revamp a telephony set-up.

VoIP users were given good news by Tariff Consultancy earlier this week, when it released a report that suggested the cost of connecting to superfast broadband links will decrease by 60 per cent between now and 2016.
