Advances in VoIP solutions 'triggers Canadian market growth'

Improvements made to voice over internet protocol (VoIP) solutions are driving growth in the sector in Canada.

According to Ted Kritsonis of Whatsyourtech.ca, writing for the Calgary Herald, the number of companies providing the service and various pieces of equipment in the North American country is on the rise.

This is the result of significant advances made within the market over recent months and years, primarily in terms of voice quality.

In the opinion of the author, this has been "vastly improved" in recent times, while costs have been reduced, meaning selling prices are more attractive.

The cost of making overseas calls has dropped, providing another incentive for firms to snap up VoIP solutions.

Mr Kritsonis added that VoIP is now a "cost-effective way to do business", particularly for small firms.

Bizcommunity.com recently revealed that the VoIP market in South Africa is also on the up, largely thanks to the development of new high-speed broadband connections in the country.
