High-speed business broadband 'is a vital part of modern life'Posted 6 months 1 week ago in: Broadband ![]() Telappliant News: 2011-11-15 Rate this article: Companies have a right to expect high-speed business broadband connections to be available to them, an MP has suggested. John Redwood, who represents Wokingham in the House of Commons, said the technology has become a "vital" aspect of modern life, reported the Wokingham Times. He noted that locations where speeds remain slow are highly problematic and must be fixed as soon as possible. Commenting on high-speed broadband, the MP stated: "It is a critical part of what is needed and part of the government's pledge. If something is not working ... it is [a case of] getting them to fix [it]." Mr Redwood went on to confirm that he would be happy to raise the issue of business broadband speeds in Westminster. BT's group director of strategy policy and portfolio Sean Williams was recently quoted by the Daily Telegraph at an eForum event in parliament saying that Britain's business broadband will become the best in Europe, if not by 2015 then very soon after.
