The communications – from business broadband to internet telephony – at the new National Football Centre will be overseen by BT.

St George's Park in Burton upon Trent, the location of the facility, is to feature a state-of-the-art communications infrastructure.

BT has been chosen by The Football Association (FA) to implement the technology and has signed a five-year, multi-million pound deal to do so.

David Sheepshanks, chairman of the venue, said: "St George's Park will be at the very centre of coach education and young player development and for The FA to be delivering its philosophy and agenda it needs the very best technology infrastructure."

Graham Sutherland, managing director of BT Business, explained the company will deliver the very best communications options, including voice and data solutions.

BT was in the headlines this week when the Ripon Gazette reported the town of Starbeck is enjoying its fastest business broadband speeds of all time thanks to an upgrade by the firm.
