Low call costs 'will be behind VoIP solutions boom'

VoIP solutions will make a significant impact in one country thanks to their affordability, if one body is to be believed.

Research and Markets has suggested that while the technology may not yet be a must for businesses in India, its potential is huge, reported TechZone360.

It said one of the major advantages of VoIP over standard telephones is the low cost of calls that can be achieved.

In time, the group believes there will be roughly 70 million users of VoIP solutions in India, with a growing mobile market contributing to this success. The trend could be replicated in other parts of the world.

Research and Markets quoted an eprobe Research study that showed the largest growth is currently in data services attached to mobiles, with the VoIP sector set for a positive five years.

Juniper Research recently predicted that the British VoIp market is also due to expand, with the roll-out of 3G and 4G connections behind a surge in mobile solutions.
