VoIP solutions 'are capable of replacing traditional telephone systems'

VoIP solutions are of such a high standard that they could one day entirely replace the traditional telephone, in the opinion of one expert.

Dave Dadds, deputy chairman of the Federation of Communication Services, explained that there is no point in buying a system that depreciates in value over a cloud-based, hi-tech version such as VoIP.

He predicted that the "vast majority" of businesses will eventually switch to VoIP, as this will become the "default" option for companies.

Commenting on the benefits of VoIP solutions, Mr Dadds stated: "You can use your phones anywhere in the country and anywhere in the world just by plugging them in and loading the application."

The capital expenditure of VoIP is also said to be significantly lower than rival systems.

Andrew Boddington, director of marketing at Return on IT, recently said it is wise for businesses to carry out an assessment of their IT infrastructure in a bid to work out where savings could be made.
