BT broadband customers to receive exclusive OnLive deals

BT broadband customers are set to receive a set of exclusive deals from innovative game service OnLive.

The company recently announced that those subscribing to its internet products will receive a free three-month trial for the service, which comes with access to more than 100 titles.

In a unique twist on the way computer and video games are traditionally delivered, OnLive does not require a console or high-grade PC hardware to play on.

Instead, content is streamed directly to the player, which means little processing power is required.

Commenting on the offer, Warren Buckley, managing director of BT Retail's customer service department, hailed it as a "fantastic new service".

"There are no strings attached," he said. "It's not part of a contract and we're waiving usage allowances until the new year."

BT's Openreach division recently hailed the progress it had made in rolling out superfast fibre-optic broadband throughout parts of the UK.
