Ease of use 'driving uptake of VoIP solutions'

Ease of use has been highlighted as one factor that is driving the uptake of VoIP solutions among businesss.

Trefor Davies, council member for the Internet Telephony Service Providers' Association (Itspa), recently claimed that the popularity of the technology is well established and promoted its many benefits.

He explained that VoIP hardware is flying off the shelves, with the majority of modern business phone solutions utilising these systems.

"What we have not yet seen is the whole country moving over to the use of VoIP phones, but this is only a matter of time and is something that is happening gradually," Mr Davies added.

He went on to predict that the future will see VoIP systems mixed with a variety of other media, including instant messaging and social networking.

Formed in March 2004, Itspa serves as a trade association to network operators, service providers and others involved in the supply of VoIP solutions.
