VoIP solutions for rural businesses 'enabled by faster broadband'

VoIP solutions are just one of the technologies that can be accessed by rural businesses in Yorkshire, thanks to faster broadband connections.

The Yorkshire Post reports that NYnet, an organisation created by the region's County Council and funded by the European Union, is now able to offer companies in the area a range of internet services.

Over the past five years, 800 public sector bases have been connected by NYnet and a spokesman for the group claimed its new products are ideal for businesses.

Chief executive of the group David Cullen highlighted VoIP solutions as one of the potential technologies that can now be utilised by companies in the region.

"This is great news for the region and means companies … can now use high-speed broadband to support the latest digital services and IT technologies," he said.

A recent ISPreview survey found that many broadband users in the UK are dissatisfied with their upload speeds.
