VoIP hardware users who communicate across multiple devices are among those being offered a new standard of protection.

Antivirus specialist Symantec has announced it will be rolling out its Norton One product, which will provide security across a number of compatible machines.

Those utilising VoIP solutions via their desktop computers, laptops or tablets can expect the company's latest offering to protect each system individually.

Users will be required to sign up for one membership, which will automatically enable them to add protection on any connected device.

Weighing in on the release, Janice Chaffin, group president at Symantec's Consumer Business Unit, hailed the new product.

"Norton One is a one-of-a-kind, new model that will address the security and service challenges that consumers face today," she said.

Ms Chaffin went on to explain that her organisation continues to focus on delivering products that cater for the individual.

Earlier in the month, Symantec rolled out both Norton AntiVirus and Norton Internet Security 2012.
