VoIP pbx users are likely to be among those who are dissatisfied with their upload speeds.

New research from ISPreview.co.uk discovered that 93 per cent of respondents in a recent survey would like to see service providers concentrate on improving this aspect of their products.

Of the 564 broadband users who were polled, half claimed that upload speed is a "very important" factor to consider when choosing a company to provide internet access.

Commenting on the findings, ISPreview.co.uk founder Mark Jackson explained that download rates are commonly given more attention by consumers.

However, he warned that this is no longer the only relevant measure of broadband performance.

"Big internet providers need to recognise that upload speed is becoming vitally important for consumers," Mr Jackson insisted.

Earlier in the month, security consultant Keith Wharram warned internet users against opening links without consideration, as they could contain harmful viruses and malicious software.
