VoIP solutions could benefit from booming communications market

Companies operating VoIP solutions and other communications technology might wish to consider their set-up after systems such as Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) received a boost.

A new report by the Dell'Oro Group has found that the software has become one of the great success stories of recent times in the market.

FCoE revenue is said to have grown by about 19 per cent during the second quarter of 2011, revealed the group's Casey Quillin.

"One of the things we did was to determine the percentage of FCoE-capable ports connected to FCoE switches and deployed to run FCoE traffic end-to-end," he noted.

The prospect of teaming various technologies may be one that appeals to forward-thinking businesses, including those that have already deployed VoIP solutions.

Rob Thurner, a mobile consultant and trainer, recently urged communications firms to prioritise marketing, as he said it can pay off handsomely in the long run.
