Videoconferencing 'can deliver various cost savings'

Businesses that employ VoIP solutions to deliver videoconferences can save significant amounts of money compared to holding meetings in one office, it has been claimed.

Keith Warburton, editor of vcinsight.com, said that one of the biggest savings will be made on travel, as team members will be able to join the conversation from wherever they have a computer and a broadband connection.

In addition, videoconferencing can benefit the environment, with the expert claiming that this, together with homeworking, could ease some of the congestion problems many are anticipating in London with next year's Olympics.

"Not only will we save countless hours of travel together with the associated stress, we will reduce carbon emissions and improve business effectiveness," Mr Warburton added.

David Meintjes, managing director of Connection Telecom, told IT News Africa that VoIP solutions are a worthy successor to traditional telephony technology and that businesses can enjoy many benefits from integrating them into their everyday operations.
