Home broadband connection 'essential for flexible working'

Having a home broadband connection is more important than ever, an expert has said.

John Drover, from the Executive Office Group, told the Daily Telegraph that with more businesses adopting flexible working, a super-fast broadband service is essential.

"Having a fast enough home broadband connection is more critical than ever if people are going to be able to take advantage of the benefits of flexible working," he stated.

Mr Drover added that this not only about time but also business.

Michael Phillips, a director at broadbandchoices.co.uk, told the newspaper that even if people have no intentions of working from home, a suitable internet connection is something consumers still need to have.

The expert recently stressed the need for students to have a broadband connection, claiming that it is an essential utility for university-goers rather than a luxury.

He added that many providers are aware of the difficult financial situation this group faces and have a number of packages tailored to meet their needs.
