Those paying in excess of £10 a month for broadband should think about switching to another company, as such an amount is too much.

That is the claim made by uSwitch technology expert Ernest Doku, who told the Daily Mirror that there are so many providers battling for custom that prices have come down dramatically.

He stated that there is a lot of "apathy" when it comes to switching broadband supplier, with people misinformed about how to do it and thinking it is very complicated.

Mr Doku said: "Anyone paying more than £10 a month for broadband should consider switching, as they're almost certainly paying over the odds. The broadband market has been a battleground in the last year, with providers offering deals from as little as £2.99 a month."

Richard Patterson, director of Broadband Expert, said recently that many people feel misled by their suppliers when it comes to the speeds they are quoted, with many getting nowhere near the speeds advertised.
