Broadband 'has brought huge benefits to design and media industries'

The evolution of broadband has brought significant benefits to businesses in the UK, with those in the design and media industry among the biggest winners.

Clodagh Murphy, director of Eclipse Internet, said the speed of broadband means that these firms and individuals' time has been freed from slow uploads and tedious processes.

As a result, they are able to devote more of their efforts to other areas of their business, meaning broadband has revolutionised their working lives.

"Rather than taking hours to upload a file, it can now take a few minutes, allowing them to spend their time focusing on their customers and driving their business forward," Ms Murphy went on to add.

Sir Mike Rake, chairman of BT, told WalesOnline.co.uk recently that broadband is crucial to the future prosperity of the UK, adding that areas known as notspots must be seen as a priority, as homes and companies in these places can find using the internet a slow and frustrating process.
