Businesses making use of VoIP hardware are concerned about the feasibility of adopting Software as a Service due to bandwidth limitations, new research has found.

According to a study by Virgin Media Business, just one in ten firms are deploying cloud computing technologies, despite 69 per cent of employees stating that they want access to such solutions, Computerworld UK reports.

The majority of workers questioned said they expect their employer to get on board eventually, with 78 per cent claiming that they will be able to access their applications over the web from outside the office in the next ten years.

Sally Hudson, research director at IDC, told delegates at the Cloud Identity Summit recently that the market for cloud and mobile security could be worth up to $6 billion (£3.7 billion) by 2015, V3.co.uk reports.

She stated that many businesses - some of which could be using VoIP hardware - are concerned about security when it comes to this technology.
