Investment in super-fast broadband infrastructure is vital to the homes and businesses in the county of Pembrokeshire, it has been claimed.

Local MP Simon Hart stated that the region is one of the worst performers when it comes to broadband speeds and this is frustrating for those who live there.

He said that this is one of the most common issues that people in his constituency contact him about.

"Poor broadband is one of the main gripes that I get in my mailbag," Mr Hart noted.

Preseli MP Stephen Crabb told the Western Telegraph that the £56.9 million cash injection from the government will make a huge difference to homes and businesses across the county.

"This kind of strategic investment is extremely important for Wales and for Pembrokeshire," he added.

Sir Mike Rake, chairman of BT, told WalesOnline.co.uk recently that it is of vital importance to the UK's future prosperity that super-fast broadband is rolled out across the country.
