Broadband boost for VoIP solutions users in Shropshire

VoIP solutions users in Shropshire are among those set to benefit from a boost to their broadband speed.

Internet service provider Aquiss has enabled a connection of up to 24 mbps for residents of Bridgnorth.

The company, which has been providing broadband solutions since 2005, recently announced the upgrade.

Managing director of the firm Martin Pitt welcomed the move, explaining that this is part of a "proactive project" to bolster the amount of exchanges found in Shropshire and laid out plans to provide similar connectivity to Ludlow, Shrewsbury and Whitchurch.

"I am very proud of our Shropshire roots, however, like many of our customers, we are deeply frustrated by the continued delays by wholesale operators to roll out higher speeds technologies in the county," he said.

His comments come after organisations and private residents in Wales were greeted with the news that the Welsh Assembly Government's Broadband Support Scheme would be extended to residents in areas of low connectivity.
