VoIP hardware could help firms engage in e-retail

VoIP hardware could be among the tools that help UK firms engage in e-retail.

This sector was recently flagged as an area that is "driving" this sector of British industry at the moment by Ben Sillitoe, editor of specialist publication Retail Gazette.

He explained that the vast technological advancement in the sector means that many companies are focusing on online opportunities for growth and described e-commerce as a "key consideration" for such firms.

"That is where the consumer is and these are the platforms where the consumer wants to shop," Mr Sillitoe suggested.

He went on to claim that it is only natural people in the sector are happy with the trend, as they see a positive future for their companies within it.

The recent Retail Eyes & Retail Gazette Salary Survey 2011 found that 64 per cent of employees in the e-retail and multichannel sectors saw their basic wage increase in the 16 months since January 2010.
