British firms 'using climate change as a reason to innovate'Posted 10 months 3 weeks ago in: General VoIP ![]() Telappliant News: 2011-06-29 Rate this article: British businesses, many of which employ VoIP services as part of their telephony solutions, are increasingly using the issue of climate change as a catalyst for innovation, it has been suggested. According to Iain Watt, principal sustainability advisor at Forum for the Future, many firms are thinking strategically about the implications of climate change and how it could affect their operations. On top of that, Mr Watt continued, several of those enterprises are devising different ways to interact with the issue and, in some cases, revolutionising the way they work by developing entirely new processes and procedures. "The opportunity angle kicks in around whether you can actually sell your products in an slightly different way, market them in a different way and actually use climate change or the broader resource crunch as something to inspire your product design team and give them a challenge," he explained. His comments come after UK Trade & Investment recently revealed that the UK market for low-carbon and environmental goods and services is valued at more than £112 billion and could be worth £150 billion by 2015.
