Future-proofing Lync installations with snom VoIP phonesPosted 1 year 1 month ago in: VoIP Hardware ![]() Telappliant News: 2011-04-20 Rate this article: VoIP phones from snom can both future-proof Microsoft Lync installations while also delivering excellent value for money, the company says. In a post on the snom VoIP phones blog, Christian Baier writes that the snom 821 is the market's only IP telephony solution to deliver a colour screen, advanced calling features and a dual SIP stack. "Choosing the snom 821 makes sure that you'll have a future-proof investment with many more features and possibilities than comparable devices," he adds. For Microsoft Lync Server 2010 users, the device also offers the ability to use hardware confirmed as being compatible with the software platform. The confirmation follows weeks of testing to ensure the IP telephony solutions work well with Lync. At the beginning of March, snom announced that the snom 821 had been certified as interoperable with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, the second of its telephony units to achieve qualification through the Compatible Devices Program.
