VoIP specialist snom this week unveiled a hardwired version of its IP PBX solution snom ONE, in the form of the appliance snom ONE plus.

Like the snom ONE software, the IP PBX appliance enables user-friendly configuration of VoIP phones from the company that are connected to a workplace network.

However, combining the pre-installed software with hardware connections and no mechanical parts, the unit promises stability and durability.

In a post on the snom VoIP blog, the manufacturer says: "Possibly the most significant benefits of the snom ONE plus as the foundation of a full IP telephony solution are its scale and flexibility."

For instance, call termination options ranging from analogue to Primary Rate Interface and Basic Rate Interface, with communications based on the E1 E-carrier and T1 T-carrier lines in Europe and the US respectively.

Meanwhile, multifunctional public switched telephone network and session initiation protocol trunking options are also available on the device.
