Customised VoIP solutions 'good for branding businesses'

VoIP solutions which offer degrees of aesthetic customisation are good news for businesses keen to extend their branding across their communications network, says snom.

In a post on its company blog, the VoIP solutions manufacturer explains that branding "is a critical element of corporate identity".

However, the ways in which its phones may be branded are often not discussed in conversations relating to other features - like interoperability or high-definition broadcasting.

"An organisation's IP telephony environment is important to them," snom adds, suggesting that some new customers might be interested in its endpoints if they were not previously aware of the customisation options.

These include branded idle screens and backgrounds on the snom 370, 821 and 870 models and on-screen logos on the snom 8xx series as a whole.

In a snom User Wiki post, the company explains that updating the Phone User Interface, or PUI, is a case of providing the address of a tarball archive which contains the desired artwork in the .png (Portable Network Graphic) format.
