JR Cook, vice-president of EarthLink Business, told Phone Plus magazine that VoIP has also re-invigorated the network solutions provider market, as enterprises want to ensure their infrastructure is as efficient as possible.

Network specifics and the companies that run them have become important again after a period in the wilderness, he continued, with enterprises no longer looking for the cheapest internet solution, but the one that best suits their needs.

Many people thought voice communication was on the way out, but the latest developments in VoIP solutions have propelled it to the forefront of technological change at the moment, he added.
