Business benefits of mobile VoIP solutions revealed

The benefits of implementing mobile VoIP solutions for businesses have been outlined by a US telecoms specialist.

In an article for ZDNet, Paltalk chief executive officer Jason Katz described the advantages as 'the six Cs'.

He named "collaboration" the first positive aspect, as individuals can easily join VoIP conversations thanks to the conference call functionality.

"Connectivity" is his second, due to the "always-on" nature of Wi-Fi networks.

Employees can "control" their voicemail and call forwarding preferences more easily with VoIP, while the "consistency" of having a single phone number regardless of location is also highlighted.

Finally, VoIP enables firms to make "cost-savings" and gives individuals the "convenience" of accessing all aspects of their office while on the road.

"Mobile VoIP is currently one of the best ways for companies to control wireless costs, maximise their wireless investment and maintain if not improve employee productivity," said Mr Paltak.

A recent study by market researcher iSuppli showed worldwide broadband take-up increased dramatically during 2010.
