'Beat the cold weather disruption' with VoIP![]() Telappliant News: 2010-12-02 Rate this article: The benefits of cloud computing for businesses suffering in the snow have been highlighted by an industry commentator, which may be of interest to businesses using VoIP. Rob Lovell, chief executive officer at cloud computing provider ThinkGrid, claimed allowing employees to communicate from anywhere in the world means work can continue as usual, even when they are unable to make it into the office. Using cloud computing, Mr Lovell continued, can remove the boundaries of the traditional workplace, while making IT costs more flexible because of the pay-as-you-go nature of internet-based services. Crucially, allowing people to work effectively from other locations means situations like bad weather or transport strikes will not adversely affect companies' profits, the expert explained. Using internet-based communication services such as VoIP means "any unforeseen situation that impacts productivity doesn't have to impact the bottom line", he added. The Met Office has predicted snow will continue to fall in large parts of the UK for the rest of the week. Related articlesShareComments![]() Be the first to write a comment!
