VoIP solutions are set to be installed in two schools in Barking and Dagenham, it has been revealed.

Specialist IT education supplier RM has announced that it has signed a £4.5 million contract with the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham to provide new technology to two of the region's schools.

The deal is part of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme and will see the two institutions benefit from new interactive learning technology and wireless networking in addition to the new communication system.

"We've worked with Barking and Dagenham for a long time, so it's great news to have been able to reach financial close on their BSF sample schools," said RM chief executive Terry Sweeney.

"We look forward to working with the teachers and pupils in these two schools to deliver exciting and engaging learning technology."

RM will also provide support services during the length of the contract.
