'Holistic' management approach can boost quality of VoIP solutions

Companies should adopt a holistic approach to managing their VoIP service in order to ensure call quality is not diminished, it has been claimed.

Although the majority of firms may monitor and maintain their VoIP system, one expert has advised business VoIP users to look at all aspects of their network to provide a broader outlook of its performance.

Amit Kapoor, director of strategic technology advancement at Tone Software, claimed businesses could slash costs by managing their "voice, data and network domains" with one package.

"The cost to maintain a VoIP endpoint is significantly higher compared to the cost of specialised tools that provide the visibility, knowledge and depth of the VoIP network," he told a TMC Net web-based seminar.

"Breaking down the barriers of successfully managing VoIP means establishing unified management across the voice, data and network domains."

The webinar outlined how firms can ensure the quality of their VoIP service can consistently meet the expectations of its end-users.
