A new
mobile phone application has been launched which could boost VoIP traffic in the UK.
Vyke has released its new software on Apple's iTunes store which allows iPhone users to benefit from free 3G and Wi-Fi calls to other Vyke customers.
Users can also make low-cost international calls to a range of countries, including Australia, China, Hong Kong and India, for just £0.01.
The release could result in more Britons using
IP telephony solutions as more consumers have access to the technology.
Mohammad Asif, chief executive of Vyke, expressed his delight at the release of the new software.
"Vyke is focused on offering convenient, low cost, high quality international calls, making it easy to stay connected with friends, family and colleagues globally," he said.
"Our new iPhone app broadens our reach and strengthens this offering, adding to our well established Java, RIM and Symbian apps."
