Liverpool to offer best VoIP solutions in UK?

Liverpool residents could be able to access the best quality VoIP service in the UK after it was revealed the city has the highest average broadband speed.

A survey by broadbandexpert.co.uk has revealed that internet users in Liverpool access an average download speed of 7.72Mbps, compared to just 2.89Mbps in the Scottish town of Dumfries.

Along with fellow top-performing towns of Cleveland and Croydon, Liverpool VoIP service users could be able to access high quality internet calls as next-generation broadband lines can support more voice data.

Rob Webber, commercial director at Broadband Expert, claimed it was "frustrating" for those who received "inadequate" broadband speeds.

He said: "In our opinion, the Government's pledge to make superfast broadband available in the majority of homes and businesses by 2017 cannot come soon enough, and I'm sure residents and workers from the areas at the bottom of the table will also agree."

The report also revealed that 3.5 million consumers receive average download speeds of less than 4Mbps.
