Firms should choose a hosted VoIP solution for the 'long-haul'

Firms should choose a company who will provide their hosted VoIP solution for the "long haul", it has been claimed.

Chris Surdenik, president of US telecommunications company Call One, advised businesses to carefully consider their provider as they will maintain the VoIP system.

He told Smart Business Online: "If you are going with a hosted solution, you need to be with a company you believe is going to be around for the long haul.

"They need to be with a company with a good reputation, history and a vast amount of experience to draw from, and one that is financially stable."

Mr Surdenik warned firms who are considering opting for a hosted VoIP solution to quickly move to a different provider if their present one collapses.

A premise-based VoIP system may carry less risk as it is installed on-site, allowing firms to quickly adapt if their VoIP provider collapses, he added.
