Companies can become more efficient by upgrading their traditional phone system to
VoIP solutions, it has been claimed.
VoIP technology can be run over a firm's existing data network, allowing businesses to save on infrastructure costs, as well as call charges.
Chris Surdenik, president of Call One, expressed his belief that some companies may be apprehensive about switching to VoIP as it appears "complex".
He told Smart Business Online: "Embrace that complexity, because it can make your business so much more effective and efficient. That is why they are as complex as they are. They really will make your business better if utilised properly."
Mr Surdenik advised businesses to employ a dedicated administrator with previous experience to help maintain and support the
VoIP system.
IP telephony solutions now have a variety of features and an experienced administrator can help firms take advantage of these, he added.
