A US school has chosen to adopt a new VoIP service, it has been revealed.

The Camino Nuevo Charter Academy in Los Angeles has upgraded its outdated traditional phone system to Broadcore's hosted VoIP package.

Broadcore officials claim the new system could allow the school to cut its phone bill by up to 90 per cent as all internal calls will now be free.

Furthermore, in-house communication will be simplified as all campuses can be connected to one centralised service.

Yolanda Sanchez, communications and compliance manager at the school, claimed choosing Broadcore "was a no brainer".

She said: "Broadcore's features allow us to always stay connected, whether remotely or internally, with our offices and schools ensuring that we are able to support them at any time."

The system was partly funded by a government initiative known as E-rate which offers institutions the chance to invest in new technology at a discounted price.
