Small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are switching to
VoIP services to benefit from cost savings, according to an expert.
David Sims, contributing editor of tmcnet.com, said: "Cost is a major reason why SMBs are switching from traditional office phone systems to hosted IP telephony".
Companies can often save money with
VoIP solutions as voice data will be delivered over the internet – eliminating the need for a dedicated phone system.
Mr Sims, writing on the website, added that VoIP is increasingly becoming the standard technology for firms of all sizes.
"VoIP enables a broader array of features than traditional analogue phone systems to improve productivity, enhance customer satisfaction, and deliver exceptional business intelligence," he said.
IP telephony solutions can be ideal for expanding companies as the system can be easily expanded to include as many users as is necessary.
