VoIP solutions could be boosted by growth of mobile broadbandPosted 1 year 5 months ago in: Broadband, General VoIP ![]() Telappliant News: 2010-09-02 Rate this article: VoIP solutions could be boosted by the increasing use of mobile broadband across the UK. A new report by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has revealed that 45 per cent of internet users have used a mobile device to access the web this year - an increase of five per cent compared to 2009. The growth of the mobile internet could boost VoIP traffic as more consumers have access to the technology. The research also found that 19.2 million UK homes are now connected to the internet, compared to 18.31 million in 2009. Overall, 30.1 million British adults use the web on a regular basis for a variety of tasks such as social networking, online shopping and researching. Mark Williams, a spokesperson for the ONS said: "Since 2006 we have seen a significant increase in the number of people using the internet, with the number of adults accessing the internet ever day almost doubling to just over 30 million, though the UK is some way off from being completely online."
