VoIP solutions have a 'great future'

VoIP solutions have a great future as the technology continues to evolve, it has been claimed.

In an interview with technology website tmcnet.com, Vlad Ellis, chief executive at Speedflow Communications, claimed new services will help aid the growth of VoIP.

He told the new provider: "VoIP technology has a great future ahead. VoIP as a technology will definitely be developing further, as the quality of services are improved and new services such as video telephony (based on VoIP technology) will appear."

Mr Ellis also predicts that IP telephony solutions will become increasingly available on mobile devices to rival traditional network operators.

Furthermore, web-based VoIP clients are set to become more popular which allow users to communicate directly from their browser.

It follows reports by cnet.com which claim Google is set to release its own VoIP service for users of its email package Gmail.
