Network monitor could improve VoIP solutionsPosted 1 year 6 months ago in: Hardware, Networking hardware ![]() Telappliant News: 2010-08-10 Rate this article: A US firm has released a new network monitoring package which could improve VoIP solutions. GL Communications has launched its upgraded Packetscanweb software, allowing users to access real-time data on their network performance. Firms are provided with statistics on various call details, such as duration and start time, which they can view using a web-based interface. The package could improve the quality of IP telephony solutions as companies can isolate any network issues which could be affecting sound quality. Karthik Ramalingam, project manager, highlighted some of the benefits of the package. He said: "Using any browser-capable-device, you can access the results from anywhere in the world. The real-time data consisting of details of all calls captured or measured by various PacketScan probes are displayed." Data is displayed in a series of diagrams and graphs so firms can gain an overview of their network performance, while they can also ensure they are adhering to protocol standards.
