The deployment of IP telephony solutions could be the difference between success and failure for many firms, it has been claimed.

David Kohreidze, telecommunications expert, expressed his belief that the introduction of VoIP services "might save your business just enough money to outlast this turbulent stretch".

In addition to saving revenue, businesses can appear larger than they are by using call forwarding features available with VoIP.

Mr Kohreidze wrote on ezinearticles.com: "A traditional analog PBX (Private Branch Exchange) phone system would be unable to forward calls from your main PBX system to an international number.

"Not so with business VoIP phone service, which will make prospective clients think your firm operates out of a single office (like a larger business) even if your partners are located on different continents."

Furthermore, companies can access digital voicemail with VoIP, allowing users to store their messages on an online cloud database which they can access via any internet connection.
