US VoIP solutions to 'profit' from expansion of mobile industryPosted 1 year 6 months ago in: General VoIP ![]() Telappliant News: 2010-08-05 Rate this article: US VoIP solutions could benefit from the predicted expansion of the mobile communications industry. Pyramid Research has estimated that the US will spend $410 billion (£258 billion) on all non-business communications in 2015, compared to $362 billion (£228 billion) this year. The firm expects more revenue to be generated from mobile services than fixed-line communications in five years time. Currently, 54 per cent is spent on wired services and 46 per cent on mobile but, by 2015, mobile services could account for 51 per cent of the market. Mobile VoIP solutions could profit from the predicted growth of the mobile industry as more people have access to the technology. Ozgur Aytar, research director at Pyramid Research, claimed technologies such as 3G and Wi-Fi will help develop the market in the future. He said: "All of the major broadband service providers already, or are beginning to, provide service bundles that integrate mobile broadband services, a key area of differentiation. By 2015, we expect mobile services to overtake fixed in terms of revenue." Related articlesShareComments![]() Be the first to write a comment! New comments* Comments may be moderated. |
