VoIP solutions could be set to improve following the release of a new monitoring package.

US firm GL Communications has launched its PacketProbe software which can be integrated into the majority of communication systems to provide data on IP telephony solutions.

Users will receive sound quality statistics, call detail records and quality of service information. Firms can then isolate and fix any issues that may arise after analysing the data.

Jagadish Vadalia, senior manager of product development at the firm, claimed the new package could help businesses become more efficient.

He said: "PacketProbe can be used to ensure successful deployments, and can also be used to help with network design, ensuring that the most efficient topologies are implemented."

The technology can be deployed on a single computer, as well as on a wide area network or local area network connection.
