Businesses will be able to calculate the potential cost of introducing a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) network using the XO Communications savings tool. The XO Enterprise SIP Savings Estimator tool will account for the number of employees, network locations and long distance calls to analyse costs. SIP networks are often used for IP telephony solutions as it can be more efficient and cost-effective than other protocols. Overall expenditure is reduced by cutting equipment and introducing local voice trunks. Mike Toplisek, chief marketing officer for XO Business Services at XO Communications, claimed lowering business costs is especially important in the current economic climate. He said: "This new savings estimator is an innovative tool that will enable enterprises to quickly and easily assess the potential cost-savings impact that XO Enterprise SIP can have on their bottom line."
